An introduction to our Courses and Workshops
If you've always wanted to tackle traditional upholstery, Now's your chance to learn.
Our courses aim to teach time honoured, traditional skills using tools, materials and techniques that have developed since the first upholsterer decided to attach fabric and stuffings to stools back in the 1600s.
Whether you are a beginner learning basic skills or further developing skills that have already been acquired our courses will be tailored to your needs.

As a fully functioning workshop we have a team of skilled upholsterers who will welcome you and support your learning alongside the course leader. This environment also enables you to see a variety of works in progress and gain an understanding of how the skills you are learning can be transferred to other projects.
Refreshments and a sit down lunch with staff provide an opportunity for relaxation and are included in the price.
In 2008 Kendal School of Upholstery was recognised as an accredited centre by the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF). This status enables us to offer independent qualifications at level 2 and 3 in upholstery skills.
